Super Junior – HERO Review

After a long wait Super Junior has given their first Japanese Album HERO. Walking in their 8^th year since their debut they proved to be “KING OF HALLYU” topping the “Oricon Daily charts” pushing the other K/J Pop band behind holding the 1^st place selling 52 232 album copies.

The album contains two CDs and a DVD, a mix package of old and new, with number of songs from their previous albums title songs like Sexy, Free &Single, Bonanama, Mr. Simple etc. The Album hero contains Super Junior members – Shindong, Donghae, Yesung (Only in audio and promotional photos and Hanamizuki PV), Sungmin, Kangin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook. Though it has only 9 members, when I read the song list two thoughts came to my mind

Why should Super Junior who is well experienced and famous use old songs in their album and giving only 4 original new tracks – Hero, Bambina, Tuxedo and Hanamizuki PV that was already released as an audio in the K.R.Y Promise You Album
Second thought that came to my mind was probably like the first album they released they wanted all together from Wonder Boys, 2007 to Sexy, Free & single that has all the members even the members who aren’t currently working as Super Junior –Hangeng, Kibum, and their leader Leeteuk, Heechul, lead vocalist Yesung who are currently in mandatory enrollment. These are just the “maybe”; my imagination… of “being together at least through our songs”.

Whatever may be the reason they brought the old songs in their first album its beautiful. Very beautifully done, though there is tiny little dissatisfaction in me is I wanted more new songs of Super Junior and I couldn’t see or listen my favourite bias Leeteuk. Still im very much pleased with the whole package. When I checked the sites that sold the album on the day of release, the sellers made so many tempting offers and giveaways at a very “reasonable price” that I couldn’t buy them all. But I did stop by buying Hero that was the only one affordable.

Moving on to the PVs of Hero and Hanamizuki I am totally not going to criticize them this tym; I loved boys doing it a bit differently from their regular dancing in a set. I loved the way Eunhyuk lead the boys taking the centre of the stage. Every single word in the song sounded sincere and full of dedication just like how they work with all they have.

“I can be your hero, kimi wo mukae ni yuku

Wanna be your hero (your hero), isshoni fly away”

I would just say of course you are my hero even when they are 50 years old… ( ^_^ ) v just like how I love BSB.

Hanamizuki PV was very soft, the first time I have heard the original song of Yo Hitoto and Super Junior KRY version too and whichever version it is; whenever I hear it I am always in tears and leaving a really heavy heart at the end. However the PV gave me enough time to gaze at Yesung and hear his voice heartily something that I missed in the performance version of Hero.

I hope you all agree with as well. Please support them, for those who changed the fandom and moved to younger KPOP bands and all; because you think they have gone stale and grown old, I want to say one last thing… THEY HAVE JUST GOT IT STARTED! AND KEEP YOUR EYES ON THEM “BECAUSE THEY ARE KING OF HALLYU” though they support younger groups Super Junior is far ahead and will always lead.

For those who expected me to come back with a good review I am really sorry to disappoint you because they are far better than what I actually when they actually said they are coming up with Japanese album. So I will just give the review points for the overall album

[REVIEW] HENRY ‘TRAP’

01. TRAP

A Catchy opening with a piano, a very pleasant one by Henry. “I’m trapped” line though its coming in too many places, it makes the song beautiful that it makes you sing along the line. Literally making you get trapped with the line. Way too catchy to be left alone the next I say I’m trapped, I’m sure I will remember the song and the music starts playing in my little brain. The album Trap by Henry is his first solo mini album and is also said to be first solo male artist by SM Entertainment. Henry is also a well known artist from one of the popular boy band’s sub unit Super Junior – M.

The title track TRAP feat by Kyuhyun of Super Junior and Taemin of Shinee its too perfect, that one can say if it was just Henry I don’t think it would have been this complete and perfect, more importantly this popular as it is now. The turns taken by Taemin and Kyuhyun to sing with Henry made, song look bold; especially emphasises made by the three vocalists on I’m trapped will make you feel that you are trapped with the song. And the nasal voices and really screeching pitches of Henry are layered and covered by Taemin and Kyuhyun.

DANCE:

HENRY:

Henry has too many talents and TRAP album is one such album that helps him decorate the stage with his vast talents like dance, piano,voice and his extreme cuteness. He has proved to be a very good dancer apart from the occasional apperances in Super Shows and as a member of Super Junior-M.

TAEMIN:

Dance Machine of SHINEE, Taemin awed the audience with his beautiful entrance. The coordination between Taemin and Kyuhyun was really cool and beautiful.

KYUHYUN:

Kyuhyun’s dance movements and speed has improved. Kyuhyun who is known for his stiff dancer of Super Junior has shown improvement in leaps and bounds. He did his very little time of presence in the MV memorable with his beautiful voice. The co-main vocalist of Super Junior and his unique voice was more than a support to Henry but it also carried Taemin’s feat together. All in all Kyuhyun worked as a binder both in voice and dance. By the way what was that dan-dan-dan and laser sound entrance of Kyuhyun it I personally didn’t like that laser sound. Though I’m not Kyu stan I want to see more flexible Kyuhyun. Will I get to more of flexi Kyu more in the coming albums?

About the MV

What’s with the hankies? Did they trial it with Super Junior’s Donghae in SM – THE PERFORMANCE? The MV was totally made on the three artists stamp mark talents, it shows that SMe has finally started seeing the existing members talents. I’m very much pleased that the MV wasn’t a box style, which is the trademark of SMe’s production style. Talking about talents, Henry who is known for specialising in many talents like violin, piano, dance, rap, vocal, cooking, I can already feel that he is going to be even more busy than he was. And the Korean Pop industry will know this Shining Star. I’m confident that he has more talents hidden under his sleeve. The beautiful props and settling has add beauty to the song. At first when I saw the MV, I was wondering what had the song to do with Henry pushing the golden cage down, later after asking my friend the meaning of the line I think it does make sense having it. As a new debut artist I think SMe has made intelligent choice of using the artist that are popular with the fans and the respective group stans to urge them to watch the MV and support the new artist and unconsciously loving the new talent.

What really itched my mind is if its the popular stars then why didn’t they use TVQX Changmin, Super Junior Eunhyuk or Donghae or handsome Siwon, Shinee Minho or Jonghyun.. was it the age gap? Whatever the reason is the three are just hogging the camera. Before I could get enough of cute Henry its Taemin and then its Kyuhyun making audience and fans spazz. Many people who underestimated Super Junior – M artist Henry I think this album has shown how good and wonderful this young talent can after the 10 years of wait getting his own limelight Henry its worth the wait.

I hope more albums and more appearance comes for Henry. Three youngest artists of two famous groups can be seen together and it sure is a bliss Mature Taemin (Shinee) Cute Henry(Super Junior – M) Evil boy Kyuhyun(Super Junior) The eye candies of two groups in one stage sure is a TRAP . . . I want to finish this before I end up spazzing. Just a word to explain what I have to say “AWESOME!!!”

About the Song

The song is about Henry who is not able to get over his love for the girl and is trapped like a bird in cage. How lonely and cold it is without her and the unresponsiveness of her giving him the toss and turn feeling to the sad end. The Trap song doesn’t have a plotted MV like Press To Reset but tried to convey the feeling.

The TRAP is a beautiful song from Henry with wonderful lyrics adding to the beauty. Being the first release of Henry and gathering attention of the KPOP fans. We hope that Henry comes out with even better albums and top the charts.

The mini album contains 5 other songs to entertain our ears with beautiful voice of Henry; the sixth song I would, sounds really soothing to ears after four fast beat pop and one can also say that it a slow melody version of Trap in English. But listening to the English song makes you forget that you are actually listening to an Korean album.

[130201] MUSIC BANK SUPER JUNIOR – M ‘BREAKDOWN’ PERFORMANCE

On 1st February Super Junior – M performed their latest album ‘BREAKDOWN’ and is its their third time to perform in Korea in two straight days.

Today they made a mix of Korean and Chinese Version of ‘Breakdown’. You can also hear the fan chant ‘BREAKDOWN’ as well. It can also be noticed that Henry and Zhoumi are really well accepted and they are sure having a fan base in Korea, even before they started performing there.

I liked today’s performance and Donghae who got hurt yesterday during MCountdown Pre-recording was also performing there and seems to be fine because his dance was as perfect as it was yesterday in MCountdown and Seoul Music Awards.

Promise You MV [FULL] & REVIEW

Super Junior K.R.Y has released their Japanese Album ‘Promise You’. KRY who is currently having a Winter Concert in budokan released their album Promise You. Check Out the MV below, if you haven’t.

They also have B side of and performed the cover song of Hitoto Yo’s “Hanamizuki”.

I can guarantee that it really is not going to be waste of money when you are going to order your DVD/CD. But let me warn you.. Their voice and right expressions and emotions are going to melt you leaving a very sweet feeling in your heart and not wanting it to end you will hit the ‘Replay’ button again and again.

Every song is really very well made.. I am loving this.. I am sure you will love it too ^^

My favourite line was when Ryeowook sang:

Promise you tsutaetainowa tada aishiteru chikauyo eienno kakerawo

I was literally melting both in and out. Their expression of long to meet and sadness of being away was very well expressed. Both Lyrics and the expressions of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung was well done and didn’t leave any awkwardness. And the 6 girls who performed in this MV was really good as well. i dont what that girl was tying.. but i could get the feeling even when the crockery slipped off the girl’s hand. Everything very well laid. That I teared at the last part.. that to when I saw ‘Promise You’ on the screen. 😥

Review:

I just loved every bit of the album and my review for this MV: 4.5/5 EXCELLENT!!

One word for this MV is just… AWESOME!!!! FELL AND STILL FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU MORE AND MORE!!

I want more and more of KRY.. Can they perform in India once??? (｡●́‿●̀｡) I really want to see them perform here… not just KRY but all the SJ members.. ^___^
